Spirited youngsters are invited to enter the annual Freedom Fest Children’s Parade. This dynamic event is coordinated by the friendly Mabel C. Fry Public Library staff and energetic volunteers. Registration for the Freedom Fest Children's Parade is FREE and available to all children age 12 and younger.

The parade course begins at City Splash Pavilion and circles around the sand volleyball court and pavilion. Parade categories include ages four and under, ages five to eight, ages nine through 12, and groups.

Participants should arrive by 10:45 am for check-in and staging. Entrants line up, and the parade begins promptly at 11:00 am The library staff lead the parade in playful costumes inspired by this Summer’s reading program: Oceans of Possibilities.

Parking is available at Freedom Trail Playground or the Yukon Community Center.

Children are encouraged to wear patriotic costumes and boldly decorate their bikes, tricycles, wagons, pets, or floats with patriotic or other themes. No gasoline-powered all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), please. An inspired description of the child’s parade entry is requested, which is read aloud as each child passes the judge’s stand.
